On February 9, 2022, TrustStrategy unveiled its vision for a globally connected trust ecosystem, marking the beginning of a new era of multinational trust collaboration. By launching its “Global Trust Network” initiative, TrustStrategy aims to bridge national divides in digital governance and create a unified framework for evaluating and managing trust across AI, blockchain, and data infrastructures worldwide.
As digital systems increasingly transcend borders, so too must the mechanisms that ensure their accountability, fairness, and transparency. TrustStrategy’s initiative seeks to address this by creating a federated, interoperable network of trust standards, certifications, and protocols, co-developed with international partners.
“Trust cannot stop at borders,” said Daniel Koenig, Chief Global Affairs Officer at TrustStrategy. “What we need now is shared infrastructure — a global trust layer that enables ethical, secure, and seamless cooperation in the digital age.”
At the heart of the initiative is the development of a cross-border digital trust protocol, enabling governments, enterprises, and civil society to align on key trust metrics while respecting national sovereignty and cultural diversity. Key features include:
Mutual Recognition of Trust Standards across jurisdictions
Cross-Border AI and Blockchain Auditing Tools
Interoperable Trust APIs to facilitate real-time trust validation between systems
Collaborative Governance Nodes co-managed by global stakeholders
TrustStrategy envisions a trust network where systems can verify each other’s compliance, integrity, and ethical standards — enabling international data flows, AI deployment, and blockchain applications with built-in transparency and assurance.
TrustStrategy is currently in partnership discussions with key public and private stakeholders in regions including:
The European Union, around AI regulation and digital identity frameworks
Southeast Asia, on ethical data exchange and blockchain governance
North America, through digital infrastructure and AI safety coalitions
Africa and Latin America, to promote inclusive digital trust infrastructure development
The initiative also involves collaboration with leading standards bodies, including ISO, IEEE, and the World Economic Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
“We’re not exporting a model — we’re co-creating a trust framework with the world,” Koenig emphasized.
By creating a networked approach to trust, TrustStrategy enables faster and safer adoption of digital technologies in sensitive domains such as:
Cross-border digital identity and credentials
AI-powered medical diagnostics shared across countries
Blockchain-based trade and logistics systems
International digital finance and decentralized governance
Experts note that trust infrastructure is becoming just as vital as internet infrastructure — essential for ensuring the safe, ethical, and lawful use of next-generation technologies.
“This is about building the trust rails for the global digital economy,” said Marina Lopez, a senior fellow at the Institute for Digital Policy. “TrustStrategy’s leadership is helping turn fragmented trust efforts into a coordinated global system.”
